Graduate programmes
The Department has a vibrant doctoral programme with around 100 students
pursuing research in all fields of economics. The MRes/PhD in Economics offers
structured research training and supervision by faculty prominent in their
fields. Graduates from the PhD programme are in demand at top academic and
international institutions worldwide.
Our Masters programmes emphasise knowledge of advanced analytical techniques
and the ability to apply them in new contexts. We offer Masters degrees in Economics and Econometrics and Mathematical Economics.
You can also take joint degrees which combine Economics with
Management,
Philosophy
and Finance; details of these are available from the administering departments.
The MPA Programme is an interdisciplinary degree which includes Economics courses.
Former students are employed as professional economists in the private, public, and international sectors. Many
decide to continue their studies by progressing to a research degree.
